Go team! The Met Store team, that is, with playful new items that evoke ivy-covered quads, first-semester college dormitories, and bleacher-filled stadiums.
A year ago, we debuted our first Met Campus Champion® Sweatshirt in black-on-white, which immediately became a best seller—it even turned up on attendees at Paris Fashion Week! To expand the line, we are now offering the same design in a long-sleeve white tee for adults.
Our tongue-in-cheek Champion sweatshirts (below) nod to two giants of art in The Met collection: Vincent van Gogh and Claude Monet. These clever new designs play on the names of these two beloved artists with collegiate humor. The Van Gogh Campus Champion Hoodie—which lists the artist’s birth date—has a front pouch and drawstring hood; the Monet Campus Champion Sweatshirt in Reverse Weave cotton includes a winking nod to his 1899 painting in The Met collection, Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies.
Also new for fall, this 100% wool scarf was made for The Met in Italy; its red, white, and black lettered design wraps nicely to keep you warm on chilly autumn days on the go—or at the football game. Or top off your look with our classic canvas baseball cap.
In addition, kids can now add some art-loving, Met “school colors” into their wardrobe mix. We are offering both Champion hoodies and classic short-sleeve cotton tees in kids’ sizes (below); the hoodies feature white lettering on a choice of blue or pink backgrounds, while the tees spell out the name in contrasting hues. Our new crew-neck Champion kids’ sweatshirt in classic gray boasts the name of the Museum in black.
And how about embracing that infectious campus spirit—with some new felt banners (like the one at the top) to adorn your apartment or dorm? Our exclusive pennant designs celebrate art, The Met in New York City, and being true to yourself.
